Investor names are never added to your title because this agreement is contractual rather than one that is recorded on the title of your property. This means that investors’ interests must be settled before you can sell your home since investor interest ise secured by a lien against your property.

In addition, as part of the offering, you will agree that at the end of the term, you’ll buy the investors out. You can do this by either refinance your home, selling it, or simply by paying the investors their share from some other source. If for some reason you are unable to do that, you may be able to negotiate an option to renew the term.
